I'm experiencing issues streaming on Gem. What can I do?
The Right App for the Right Device
If you are using a mobile phone or tablet to access CBC Gem, we suggest using our free CBC Gem app rather than your device's mobile browser.
ON DESKTOP (WINDOWS OR MAC) - Please ensure your browser is updated to the latest version. We currently support the latest versions of Chrome, Safari, Firefox, and Microsoft Edge. Please note that Internet Explorer has been discontinued by Microsoft and is no longer supported.
If you are using a Chromecast, please refer to his help article. (https://cbchelp.cbc.ca/hc/en-ca/articles/115003511633)
Turn off Any Vpn/Proxy Services or Ad Blockers
If you are getting errors that you appear to not be located in Canada or playback errors. Try disabling any VPN or Ad Blocking services to see if that helps. Many antivirus suites provide ad-blocking and VPN capabilities, so you may need to check your program settings to see if any of these services are running.
Make Sure You Are in Canada
CBC Gem is only available within Canada, due to content rights issues and licensing agreements.
