Some users accessing the CBC News app on an Android device may encounter a sign-in issue. The error can be described as follows:
When selecting “Sign in”, the app displays a loading screen that never disappears. As a result, users are unable to access the CBC Account sign-in portal.
This issue occurs when the device’s clock is out of sync with the actual local time. Resynchronizing the device’s clock usually resolves the problem and allows successful sign-in.

Open the "Settings" app on your Android device.
Scroll down and select "System" (or "General Management").
Select "Date and time".
Toggle "Automatic date and time" off.
Wait a few seconds.
Toggle "Automatic date and time" back on.
