Logging in to the Gem app for Android TV
The CBC Gem app for Android TV is intended for devices running version 7 or higher of the Android TV operating system.
The following instructions will help guide you through the ways you can log in to Android TV:
Locate and select the Sign In button on the top right corner of the screen.
On the following screen select Sign In from the bottom of the screen.
Selecting the Sign In button will take you to the CBC Gem login options screen.
From this screen you have two options of how you can sign into Gem:
From here, select the Email field.
Use the on-screen virtual keyboard to enter your Gem email, then select the arrow at the bottom of the screen to continue.
Use the on-screen virtual keyboard to enter your Gem password, then select the check mark at the bottom of the screen to continue.
This option will allow you to sign into Gem using a second device such as a mobile phone or tablet rather than using a remote or controller.
Scan the QR code with your mobile device’s camera.
Alternatively you can head directly to gem.cbc.ca/androidtv on any supported web browser.
A browser will open on your device, directing you to a page where you’ll be prompted to enter the eight-character code displayed on your TV screen.
Enter the code and select validate code.
After entering the code, you’ll be directed to a screen where you can sign in using the email address associated with your Gem account, or choose one of the two social login options: Apple or Google.
Select Sign in with email to log in using the email address associated with your Gem account.
Next, enter your Gem email address into the Email field and your Gem password in the Password field.
When done select Sign in.

If the code is accepted and pairing is successful, you will then be logged into the Gem app on your Samsung Smart TV.
