Logging in to the Gem app for Fire TV (Fire OS 6+)
Please note, As of January 15, 2026, the CBC Gem app will only be available for download and use on the Amazon Fire TV stick, or on Fire TV-enabled Smart TVs running Fire OS 6 or higher.
The following instructions will help guide you through the ways you can log in to Fire TV (Fire OS 6+):
Locate and select the Sign In button on the top right corner of the screen.
On the following screen select Sign In from the bottom of the screen.
Selecting the Sign In button will take you to the CBC Gem login options screen.
From this screen you have two options of how you can sign into Gem:
From here, select the Email field.
Using the onscreen virtual keyboard, enter your Gem email and select Next.
Using the onscreen virtual keyboard, enter your Gem password and select Next.
This option will allow you to sign into Gem using a second device such as a mobile phone or tablet rather than using a remote or controller.
Scan the QR code with your mobile device’s camera.
Alternatively you can head directly to gem.cbc.ca/firetv on any supported web browser.
A browser will open on your device, directing you to a page where you’ll be prompted to enter the eight-character code displayed on your TV screen.
Enter the code and select validate code.
After entering the code, you’ll be directed to a screen where you can sign in using the email address associated with your Gem account, or choose one of the two social login options: Apple or Google.
Select Sign in with email to log in using the email address associated with your Gem account.
Next, enter your Gem email address into the Email field and your Gem password in the Password field.
When done select Sign in.
Forgotten passwords or email updates
Instructions on how to reset your password, or update your email address can be found here: https://cbchelp.cbc.ca/hc/en-ca/articles/115003515673.
