Can I redeem my code on the CBC Gem app?
No. Your code can only be redeemed on our CBC Gem website.
Once your code has been redeemed, you can enjoy your premium subscription across any of our supported platforms.
Can I redeem my code if my subscription is handled by Apple, Google or Roku?
No. Currently, our coupon campaigns can only be added to subscriptions which are handled by CBC directly. This means only subscriptions which were purchased through the CBC Gem website and paid for by credit card.
If you have a subscription which is handled by Apple, Google, or Roku and you would like to use a CBC Gem coupon code, you would first need to cancel your subscription through Apple, Google, or Roku.
Once your Premium entitlement has been revoked at the end of your subscription period, and you have reverted back to a free subscription, you can then redeem your code by signing up directly on the CBC Gem website using a credit card as your means of payment.
Once your code has been redeemed, you can enjoy your premium subscription across any of our supported platforms.
How do I redeem my coupon code?
There are two ways you can redeem your Gem coupon code:
If you have been sent an email containing a promotional offer for CBC Gem, you can select the Claim Your Offer button. This will launch the Gem website where the promotion will be automatically applied at the end of the Gem Premium signup process.
Steps:
If you were sent a promotional email, simply select the Claim Your Offer button.
Selecting the button will launch the default web browser on your device, taking you to the promotion detail page. From here you will be able to read more about the offer. Once you're ready to proceed, select Claim Offer
If you are currently not signed into the Gem website, you will be asked to log in. Once you are signed in the redemption process will begin. Confirm you are signed in with the desired CBC Gem account and select Next to proceed.
If you want to sign in with a different account, select Change account before moving on to the next step.
You will see pricing details for the CBC Gem Premium subscription.
Please note - This is a summary of the regular monthly fee before any discounts have been applied to it. Your coupon code will be applied later on in the process.
Once you're ready to proceed, select Continue
If you already have a payment method on file with us, confirm that this is the credit card you'd like to use and then select Continue.
If you do not have a payment method on file you will be asked to enter your credit card details at this point
Once you're ready to proceed, select Continue
You will now see the transaction summary screen.
On this screen confirm that:
- The email address displayed is the Gem account you'd like to use.
- The coupon code has been applied. The code will appear in the Promo Code field with the text Validated Code immediately beneath it.
- The description and terms of the coupon are correct. i.e. 100% off for 1 month.
Once you have confirmed this information select Confirm and Subscribe
Once the transaction is successfully processed you will be presented with a confirmation message.
If you have a coupon code ( i.e. EXAMPLECODE ), you will need to manually type this code in at the end of the Gem Premium sign-up process.
Steps:
If you are currently not signed into the Gem website, you will be asked to log in. Once you are signed in, select Try Premium from the top right corner of the screen.
You will be taken to a screen summarizing the benefits of Gem Premium.
Locate and select the Try Premium button.
Once you have selected Try Premium, the subscription process will begin.
Confirm you are signed in with the desired CBC Gem account and select Next to proceed.
If you want to sign in with a different account, select Change account before moving on to the next step.
On the following screen, you will see pricing details for the CBC Gem Premium subscription.

I already have a paid subscription/free trial. Can I use my code?
Yes. However the promotion will not be applied to your subscription until the end of your current subscription period.
For example. If you have a current active subscription (paid through credit card only) which is set to renew on June 1st, any applied coupon code will not take effect until that date.
I just cancelled my paid subscription. What happens if I apply a coupon code during this time?
Applying a coupon code to a subscription which is in a cancelled state will renew the subscription.
The coupon code will only be applied at the end of the current subscription period.
For example. If you have cancelled your current subscription (paid through credit card only) and it is set to end on August 31st, applying a coupon code will automatically renew this subscription. It will no longer end on August 31st and will continue until cancelled.
What credit cards does Gem accept as forms of payment?
We currently accept MasterCard and VISA credit cards on CBC GEM, as well as Debit MasterCard or VISA Debit cards.
