Podcasts are audio files that can be downloaded or streamed from an app or website. You can listen to them using a mobile device like your phone, a tablet or desktop computer. They are released as episodes and topics can include, news, fiction, music, arts & entertainment.
To download audio files from cbc.ca/listen, look for podcast information under the "How to Subscribe" button on each show page.
That section includes links to Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts, and the RSS feed. If you click that last one, you'll see the mp3 URLs for each podcast file. Click to highlight the file you want, then right click to copy it and open a new tab in your browser. Paste the mp3 URL into the address bar and hit return/enter.
In Chrome, an audio player will appear; look for the 3 dot menu on the right side of the player and click on it. Select "download" to save the file to your downloads folder.
In Firefox, it's the same process: you control-click (on Mac & on PC) and when the menu appears, choose "Save Audio As" and save to your folder of choice.
