Although we have made the decision to temporarily grant free access to CBC News Network on Gem, CBC Gem premium is not free.
A News Network Free Preview is scheduled for April 7 - May 5, 2025 to provide Canadians access to News Network for a limited period of time during the Federal Elections.
Normally, access to CBC News Network is also included as a Gem premium feature, but CBC News Network has been made temporarily available for free on CBC Gem, CBCNews.ca, and the CBC News app, providing more Canadians with full access to news programs offering crucial analysis and key interviews.
These include POWER & POLITICS with David Cochrane, featuring an expanded Power Panel to guide Canadians through the quickly evolving drama of politics in election time; new daily primetime program from the West Coast HANOMANSING TONIGHT with veteran journalist Ian Hanomansing; and ROSEMARY BARTON LIVE, which has introduced a new panel of former MPs to give audiences an inside look into how the parties are thinking about this moment in Canadian politics.
Please note that in addition to News Network access, your premium subscription provides an ad-free viewing experience for CBC Gem’s extensive library of hundreds of on-demand shows and movies, including comedies, dramas, and documentaries. A premium subscription also provides exclusive early access to select programs, with many more on the way.
You may cancel your Premium membership at any time, although we do hope you’ll stay with us.
