** Special note for viewers of CBC Windsor. The December 20 broadcast of Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer will not be seen in your area, due to rights issue. The substitute programming is The Great Northern Candy Drop at 7 p.m. and The Curse of Clara at 7:30 p.m. You can also stream Rudolph on CBC Gem by watching the Ottawa feed while the show airs at 7 p.m.

Sunday, December 22 beginning at 9 am/9:30 am NT on CBC Music
One of the most popular events of the year on CBC Music, "Joy to the World" is a full day of holiday music programming from the European Broadcasting Union. It's a tradition that's been going strong for 25 years, uniting the globe through traditional music for the holiday season. This year's broadcast, hosted by Julie Nesrallah, will include performances from Germany, Spain, Denmark, Poland, Bulgaria, Iceland and England.
Tuesday, December 24 and Wednesday, December 25
‘Tis the season for special music programming on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. CBC Music hosts take over the two networks with hours of seasonal stories and tunes.
Also on December 24, the annual reading of Frederick Forsyth's classic tale, The Shepherd will air during As It Happens, beginning at 6:30 pm/7 pm NT on CBC Radio One.
On Christmas Day, CBC Radio One and CBC Music will broadcast The Queen's Christmas Message at 2:50 pm/3:20 pm NT

On Boxing Day, holiday programming continues with specials from CBC Books and CBC Music.
Tuesday, December 31
A New Year's Eve Music Simulcast special takes to the air December 31 on CBC Music and CBC Radio One beginning at 8 pm/8:30 pm NT. Join host Rich Terfry as he takes a fascinating look at the musical events from 2019 while spinning an all-Canadian mix of classics & modern hits.
