We’re experimenting with adding local weather to the Morning Brief. To do this, we’re using your IP address to estimate your location.
How does this work? When an email recipient opens an email with the geolocation feature, a query is sent to a third-party IP address database to see if the IP address can be matched to a location. The email recipient's location is not stored by CBC or the third party IP database.
