Q: What is happening to Radio 2?
A: Radio 2 is changing its name to CBC Music.
Q: Why is the name changing?
A: Music is the heart of what we do. We wanted to ensure Canadians found us, and the music they love, as simply as possible. Simply calling ourselves ‘Radio’ wasn’t enough to convey how everything we do is dedicated to music.
Q: Will I still be able to hear my favourite show/host?
A: All of the same hosts and programs are in their regular time slots. The music will not change.
Q: Has the tuning frequency changed?
A: There should be no change to the tuning frequency on your radio dial.
Q: Will this affect Radio One?
A: No. Radio One is remaining the same as before.
Q: What is the difference between CBC Music and CBCMusic.ca?
A: CBC Music is the name of everything we do, from our 24/7 cross-Canada radio service, to our live music events, to our editorial content available on-line and on television. CBCMusic.ca is the online digital platform from which you can access both the digital on-air signal, and over 100 curated music genre stations.
Q: Where else will this name be changed?
A: Other sites like TuneIn; Apple Radio; Radio Player; CBC.ca/listen; Sonos will all list Radio 2 with the new name: CBC Music
