News tips and local story coverage
If you have a breaking news tip or local story to send us, your first stop is your regional newsroom. Please contact them first to pitch.
We've provided links to the contact pages for regional CBC sites at the bottom of this page.
Stories for CBC to investigate
Information on submitting story ideas to Marketplace or The Fifth Estate can be found on their websites.
You can also submit your story to CBC's Go Public – an investigative news segment that holds the powers that be accountable. If your story is in the public interest, the Go Public team will review it to see if it is something they can tackle. There is no phone number for Go Public; you must use the submission form or email address to bring your story to the attention of the Go Public investigative team.
Once your submission is assessed, should there be interest in pursuing it, you will be contacted directly by someone from the program.
If you want to reach CBC News in a more confidential way, you can use CBC’s SecureDrop system. Send your information "to the attention" of any specific CBC programs, reporters, or simply to "CBC Investigations."
